WMWG's got talent Print E-mail

Do sunny hills, shady woods, birdsong and babbling brooks sound more appealing than live group balling sessions on Channel 4?  You really don’t have to go far to escape the latest ubiquitous and soulless offering of Big Brother or Britain’s Got Talent.

Your new programme is really fit to burst. There are weekend walks for all this summer. There are also plenty of evening walks planned too. Topped off with several walking weekends away, who needs ‘chav’ drenched Ibiza?

In this fun packed Hotlegs ‘Summer Special’, we take a look back at the past 3 months in WMWG land.  We’ve had some wicked weekends away, walked hundreds of miles, some of us in zebra leggings and managed to avoid Simon Cowell.  Looking forward, keep your walking boots and rah-rah skirts handy and have your pack-a-mack on stand-by. Get set for summer.  WMWG’s got real talent!

Bye!  Steve D

Hotlegs on tour...... in Newport

Late on Friday afternoon on the Whitson Bank Holiday Weekend and the big escape from the West Midlands was on!  My car, loaded with provisions sourced from Aldi and Lidl, Leander and Rachel slowly began creeping its way to the Pembrokeshire coast. Sat Nav Mary said ‘take the motorway’, no way! The M42 was bumper to bumper so we opted for the cross country alternative ‘route of mystery’. After almost 2 hours on the road we made it to that far flung town of Ludlow. We had to pick up more groceries at Somerfield and stopped for tea at the ‘chippy’ opposite. Fantastic fish and chips! Sat Nav Mary then directed us through the hills and valleys as the fog descended and the rain lashed down! After traveling along what felt like a ‘never ending’ road we popped up at the Devil’s Bridge and we dropped down into Aberwrystwith. We hit the coast road, the low fuel light stayed on as every garage we passed was shut.
