Getting SAD? Walk this way! Print E-mail

It’s the time of year we all dread?  The nights draw in and the clocks go back.  Strictly Come Dancing and The X Factor vie for our attention on a Saturday night and your chair makes another speech at the AGM and Seasonal Adjustment Disorder kicks in.  Happily we’ve found a solution to it all.  The answer to lifting those spirits is at the end of finger tips or do I mean toes?  Start planning ahead, pick out a couple of walks you may fancy.  Maybe build up to try a slightly harder one, our resident ‘crazy gang’ are back in the programme and would love to see you out on a brisk autumn walk.  Why not book a weekend away with the group? There are several planned during the run up to Christmas.  If you’ve not been away yet, give it a go.  All kinds of characters come out of the woodwork when we go away and we make new friends everywhere we go.   New Year is coming up soon too!  Who really wants to be stuck in the West Midlands or with the Chavs on Broad Street  when there’s great walking and plenty of fun and banter to be had out in the countryside and then afterwards in the bar.  So no excuses!  I’ll see you out  walking and maybe even Celhi dancing at our big  charity fund raising event in November?

Bye!  Steve Davis

Pick up a p,p,penguin Print E-mail
penguinWith cold days looming penguins may be taking temporary shelter underneath your car whilst you are out walking. Penguins are black and white and grow up to 75cm. Anything taller may be nun sleeping off a hangover. Thanks to James W for this vital public service feature.

Watch out Daisy’s about! Print E-mail

daisyNo bull. It's been reported in the media that attacks by cattle on people are becoming more common with the ‘right to roam' being identified by upper crust land owners as being one of the main reasons. Well if it's in the Daily Mail it must be true? Well fear not, you need not be a Spanish Matador to tackle cattle safely. Find out more on Andy's Page.

A sign of confusion? Print E-mail
sign_confusionIt may not always be the leader's fault when the walk is further than advertised in the programme!
